Sol Systems is seeking a Summer Intern for our Project Development team in our Washington, DC office. The team develops commercial and small utility scale solar energy projects from inception to the start of detailed construction engineering. This position will involve all aspects of supporting project developers in both potential and existing markets.
The Sol Systems Legal Externship Program enables a law student to earn academic credit while training in the General Counsel offices of a solar finance firm located in downtown Washington, DC. Students work side-by-side with highly experienced in-house counsel on a range of matters related to renewable project development and project finance. The law student receives regular oversight, feedback, guidance, and mentorship from a designated supervising attorney, who also works with the student to design a meaningful practical legal experience for the semester. The law student will have a front row seat to live deal negotiations and will learn about sophisticated renewable transactions at all stages, from due diligence, contract negotiation, and closings, to post-closing project execution and performance. Example work includes assistance with due diligence assignments, drafting transaction documents, document control, assembling exhibits, and handling closing checklists.

The Externship position will be located at our headquarters in Washington, D.C.
Commitment & Compensation:
This is an unpaid externship and the student will receive academic credit for the fall semester.
